I am a PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I also studied philosophy as an undergraduate at Wesleyan University. This site contains information about my research and teaching. I plan to add more content soon.

My research interests lie at the intersection of normative ethics, moral psychology, and metaethics. My dissertation is about extraordinary moral agents--often called "moral saints"--and various puzzles that arise when we examine how these agents navigate the boundaries of moral obligation.

The courses I've taught most recently at Michigan are Bioethics and Introduction to Logic. Enrolled students can access the course webpages here. I've also taught Contemporary Moral Problems (with Peter Railton), Ethics (with Allan Gibbard), and Problems of Philosophy (with Jim Joyce).
